He was predeceased by: his siblings, Edith Fanton and James; and his parents, James A. McDermott, Sr. and Helen Nelson McDermott. He is survived by: his wife Alicia Alvarez McDermott; his daughter Raelene Alvarez McDermott; his brother Edward McDermott (Barbara); and his friend Lee Ellen Chontos.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Calvary Mortuary Chapel (4201 Whittier Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90023). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 4th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Calvary Cemetery (4201 Whittier Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90023). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 4th 2026 at the same location.
