He was predeceased by: his parents, George Leonard and Frances Leonard (Cerrito); his sisters, Sally (Peter) and Evelyn (Peter); and his brother-in-law Rick.
He is survived by: his wife Bella Pironi; his children, George (Greta), Francesca (Brian), Frank (Kathleen), Jennifer (Mike) and MaryAnne (Luis); his grandchildren, Jimmy (Samantha), Michael (Kristin), Catherine (Travis), Edward, Lorenzo, Carolina and Anton; his great grandchildren, Madison, Greta and Charlotte; and his siblings, Phyllis (Don), Elizabeth, Michael (Diane) and Debra (Marc). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the San Carlos Cathedral (500 Church St, Monterey, CA 93940). A vigil service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to San Carlos Cathedral or Italian Catholic Federation, Branch 36, in Monterey.
