She was predeceased by: her parents, George Koura (Yoshito) and Shizuko Koura; her parents-in-law, Tom and Tomeko Sugiyama; and her brother-in-law Richard Nakanishi.
She is survived by: her husband Jim Sugiyama; her daughters, Joanne Sugiyama (Antonio) and Kim McLaughlin (Carter); her sisters, Pat Fabiny (Joe), Cindy Johnson and Kathy Mann (Mark); and her grandchildren, Emiko Taheri, Tegan McLaughlin and Ayden McLaughlin. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews.
