He was predeceased by: his parents, James Schaefer and Jacquelyn Schaefer; and his brother John Carl Schaefer. He is survived by: his wife Susan Cooper Schaefer of Rohnert Park, CA; his daughters, Joanna Wilkins (Scott) of Colfax, IA and Erin Carter (Blake) of Valley Center, CA; his stepdaughters, Lori Borchard (Ron) of Roseville, CA, Natalie Varner (Brandon) of Santa Rosa, CA and Amie Tarrant of Cotati, CA; his siblings, James "Jim" Schaefer (Robin) of Roseville, CA and Jan Wamsley of Napa, CA; Jay. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 28th 2026 at 3:00 PM.
