It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Nelson of Napa, California, born in Lamar, Colorado, who passed away on January 4, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Emmanuel Nelson and Agnes Louise Naslund Nelson; and his brother Oscar Arthur Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Harriet Abbott Nelson; his children, Kristi Pennington, Eric, Yvonne Nelson, Alex and Karen Winter-Nelson; his grandchildren, Elise Achimore, Sonja Nelson, Helena Pennington, Ezra and Timothy Winter-Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Noelle and Isaac Achimore. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
