He was predeceased by : his parents, Floyd Cartwright and Nellie Cartwright; and his brothers, Arlen, Eugene (Arlene) and Larry Cartwright.

He is survived by : his wife Edie; his children, Angela D'Valentine (Matthew) and Brian (Donna); and his grandchildren, Tyler, Braden, Rory Cartwright, Jessica Scott (Ryan), Dominic "Nico" and Damien D'Valentine. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.
