He was predeceased by: his parents, John William and Emma Viola DeWitt (Ashby); and his siblings, Betty L. Martin, Stanley W. DeWitt, Harold E. DeWitt, Marie E. Skipper, E. Loretta Sines, Wanda C. Steiding and Peggy L. McCartney.
He is survived by: his brother J. Robert DeWitt (Linda R.). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes (21 N 2nd St Ext, Oakland, MD 21550). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Crellin Assembly of God (2220 Hutton Rd, Oakland, MD 21550). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Garrett County Historical Society.
