He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gin Hom and Mashee Yuen Hom; his children, Noel Young, Joe Hom, Edie Newhart, Jim Hom, Alyce Wu and Ken Hom; his wife Lourdes; his daughters, Pamela Hom and Valerie Brennan (Kevin Brennan); and his grandson Henry MacDonald. He was also cherished by his daughters and grandson.
