She was predeceased by: her brother Roland Smith III; her brother-in-law Ralph Drinkwater; and her parents, Virginia Smith, and Roland Smith, Jr.. She is survived by: her daughters, Alicia Choury (Karen) of Oakland, Lara Christianson (Heike Gerds) of Bremen and Leah Madsen (Mike) of Marshall, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Iris, Erik, Josiah, Max and Azriela; her sisters, Judith Drinkwater of Gloucester and Betsey Smith of West Hartford; her sister-in-law Nancy Smith of Essex; and her cousin Marjorie Spinney of Gloucester. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.

Donations to World Wildlife Fund (WWF) or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in her name are welcomed.
