It is with sadness that the passing of Samuel Cecil Simmons II of Oakland, California is shared. Samuel, born on December 2, 1957, passed away on August 16, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Samuel will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Samuel by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Cecil Simmons and Janelle Simmons; his daughter Shannon Marie Simmons; and his sister Deborah Mavis. He is survived by: his son Samuel Cecil Simmons III; his son-in-law Joshua; his brother-in-law John Mavis; and his siblings, Jerry Stoller (Pat) of Tracy, California and Sharon Moy (Jack) of Vacaville, California. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, siblings in Tennessee; and his many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 711 Old Canyon Rd..
