With sadness, we share the passing of Mario Leite in Oceanside, California. Mario, born on July 12, 1944 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away on October 18, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Isabel; his brother Adrian Leite; and his father Adrian Leite. He is survived by: his wife April Benfield; his sons, Tom Leite (Marina) and Tony Leite (Jenny); his stepchildren, Jesse and April Acuna; his grandchildren, Summer, Christian, Charlotte and Addison Leite; and his siblings, Bob Leite and Betty Silvia.
The military honors will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Miramar National Cemetery (5795 Nobel Dr, San Diego, CA 92122).
In 2005, he received the Silver Eagle Award for his contributions to the Net-Warfare Test and Evaluation Team.
