He was predeceased by: his parents, John Francis and Madeleine Killeen; his former wife Sally Ann Donovan; and his brother Calhoun. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his brother Gerard; and his sons, Thomas and James. He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, a private Catholic mass and burial will be held for immediate family members at Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside, CA.
