He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward George "Ted" Leonard and Susan Olive "Susie" Leonard (Leebrick); his wife Lola Margaret Crofutt of Lusk Wyoming; and his siblings, Edward, Lee, Mary Ransdell and Ruth Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Ken Leonard (Teresa) of Carlsbad, Tom Leonard of Burbank and Susan Lott (Glenn) of San Clemente, California; his grandchildren, Pam Polischuk (Dennis) of San Jose and Lyndon Leonard (Kathleen) of Chandler, Arizona; and his great grandchildren, Nina, Alek Polischuk, Kendra and Isabel Leonard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sam's name can be made to the Care Team at San Dieguito United Methodist Church, 170 Calle Magdalena, Encinitas, California 92024.
