He was predeceased by: his father Alfred Lee Owens Sr.; his daughter Vida C. Owens Grant; his mother Roxie Lee Love Owens; and his siblings, Jewell Owens, Leon Owens, Lawrence Owens-Jeffries, Alfred Owens Jr., Brigman Owens, Marvin Owens, Jessie Owens, Shirley Owens-McClannahan and Audrey Mae Gardner.
He is survived by: his wife Claudette Arbouet Owens; his children, Florence Owens-Davis and David Kane Owens; his son-in-law Michael L. Davis; his grandchildren, Naomi Grant, Simeon Davis, Vida Davis, Seth Davis, Kayia Owens, Drew Owens and Kayla Owens; his siblings, Dorothy Whitehurst and Theodore Owens; and his siblings-in-law, Remus Arbouet Jr., Jean Arbouet, John McClannahan, Florence Arbouet, Patricia Owens, Lowanna Owens and Romell Foster Owens. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family.
