He is survived by: his wife Patsy Newton; his children, Kelly Vargas, Suzanne Bolen and John Newton; and his sisters, Maylene Claborn, Barbara Pierson and Betty Young. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
