He was predeceased by : his wife Darlene Forbes (Kayser); his parents, Ernest "Shorty" Forbes and Marie Forbes; and his sister Carol Vivan. He is survived by : his sisters, Careen Keith (Bob) and Nina Bates (Sonny Simmons); and his children, Brent Forbes (Kelly), Scott Forbes (Barb), Kelly Smock (Claude) and Wade Forbes (Gina). He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Odd Fellow Cemetery (3900 Co Rd P, Orland, CA 95963). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at the Country Bible Church (5000 3rd Ave, Orland, CA 95963).
