He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Ralph Hilzer and Mickey Hilzer; his sister Carol; his wife Joann; his children, Tom (Katherine), Alanna and Elizabeth; his step-son Mathew (Michelle); and his step-grandchildren, Jules, Riley and Gavin. He was also cherished by friends and family including his granddaughters and grandsons.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, February 25th 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary (825 A St, Orland, CA 95963).
