We announce the death of James Raymond Henschel of Oxnard, California, who passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 92. James Raymond will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henschel and Lucille Henschel; his wife Beverly Caputo; and his sons, Michael, Chris (Sam) and Joe (Vina).
He is survived by: his children, Donna (Rod), Bonnie (David), Dorothy (Terry), Janet (James), Steve (Tami), Kenny (Tammy) and Jimmy (Penny); his close friend Patrica Fontes; his pet Tucker; his friend Dorothy; and his great grandchildren, Arabella, Madison, Addison, Camden, Hayden, Colby, Chase, Wally, Audrey, Annie, Mae, Henry, Isla, Lara, George, Emma, Olivia, Adam, Jack, Faith, Oliver, Sally, Lucy, Grant, Joy, Finn, Leo, Booker, Declan, MacKenna, Levi, Seamus, Riley, Patrick, Quinn, Wesley, Charlotte, Emmett, Catalina, Margaret, Bernadette, Kenneth and James.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home & Cremation Service (757 E Main St, Ventura, CA 93001). A rosary will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Santa Clara Catholic Chapel (1333 Ventura Blvd, Oxnard, CA 93036). The military honors will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery (1333 Ventura Blvd, Oxnard, CA 93036).
