The memory of Shelby Jean Mello in Palm Desert, California, born in Inez, Kentucky, who passed away on September 24, 2025 at the age of 86, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. Though Shelby may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Shelby touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Bill; her daughter Anita Jennings (Mello); her granddaughter Jill Byrd (Jennings); and her great grandchild Benson Tiedeman. She is survived by: her daughters, Diana Jennings of Burkett, Texas, Theresa Daniels (Tim) of Palm Desert, California and Nancy Sherman (Larry) of Caldwell, Idaho.. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great- grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 10:45 AM at the Riverside National Cemetery (22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518).
