We are sad to announce that on September 7, 2025 we had to say goodbye to John Louis Scharer of Petaluma, California, born in Susanville, California. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Louie Scharer and Lydia Scharer; and his sister Jeannette Douglass. He is survived by: his siblings, Ken Scharer (Linda) and Liz Haskins; his wife Vicki; his children, Paula Verke (Keith) and Jean Ann Scharer; his grandchildren, Christopher Verke, Megan Sandwina (Tim), Kellie Nasrah (Nader), Will Krupp and Kyle Krupp; and his great grandchildren, Braden, Ashlyn and Nathan Sandwina.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church (125 Sonoma Mountain Pkwy, Petaluma, CA 94954).
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to Providence Hospice of Petaluma, the American Heart Association, or the Petaluma Valley Hospital Foundation.
