He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Virginia Lee Hasson (Williams) and Albert Nolan Hasson; his wife Mary; his children, David Paul Hasson (Tanja) and Maura Gleason (Chuck); his granddaughter Anna Gaither (Kevin); his children, Rebecca Jaderquist (Darien), Riley Gleason and Zoe Gleason; his great grandchildren, Kenzie Gaither, Cailyn Gaither and Hazel Jaderquist; and his siblings, Walter Snyder (Sarah) and Martha Willits (Mark).
In 1974 he was selected as an Outstanding Secondary Educator of America, "in recognition of contributions to the advancement of secondary education and service to community.".
