David O'Ravez wrote a sympathy message

“Murray was a friend, neighbor, coach and all around great person. Murray helped me at Enterprise High where I coached baseball. He was always an inspiration to the players and coaches. Years later Murray became my neighbor and we would talk about baseball regularly. Sometimes late at night I would hear a thumping sound and Murray would be out in the street with a bucket of balls working on his pitching throwing at an old mattress. His mechanics were good but his curveball needed some work!”
