He was predeceased by: his father Jose R. Perez. He is survived by: his wife Evalina Roque Perez; his children, Debra Taylor (Shawn), Gilbert J. Perez, Julie Perez and Paul Perez; his grandchildren, Erica Jacobsen (Matt), Erin Hagstrom (Brendan), Devin Hagstrom, Zachary Perez, Noah Perez and Caleb Perez; his great grandchildren, Adam Hagstrom Garvey and Edith Hagstrom Garvey; and his brother Joe Honesto Perez. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
