Norman Knapp Jr. passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, in Redlands, California, surrounded by his family.

Born in Norwalk, Connecticut, on September 5th, 1929, Norman lived a life defined by service, dedication, and commitment to his family and community. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and carried that spirit of service throughout his life. He was married to the love of his life, Marion Mayen, for 53 years before her passing in 2007.

Following his military service, Norman enjoyed a long career with the United States Postal Service before retiring. He was a lifetime member of both the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion, organizations that reflected his devotion to veterans, community involvement, and fellowship. He was also honored to participate in an Honor Flight, recognizing his service and sacrifice as a veteran.

Norman will be remembered for his strong work ethic, patriotism, and unwavering love for his family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Margaret Knapp; his beloved wife, Marion Knapp; his daughter, Deborah Prastine; his granddaughter, Virginia Prastine and his son-in-law, Gary Williams.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna Williams and Margaret Knapp and her husband, Jape Abruscato; his sons, Robert Knapp and his wife, Darlene Knapp, and Norman Knapp III; as well as 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who brought him great joy.

Norman's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy of service, integrity, and devotion to family will never be forgotten.
