“I had the pleasure of working with Ray at the CAHFS lab for many years. We were good buddies. Ray was always stopping by to chat about life, our kids and politics. He loved to tease me about my political views, and i would reciprocate by teasing him about his love of guns. In some ways we were chalk and cheese, and yet our friendship was rock solid. I will sorely miss Ray and his dry wit. My heart goes out to the Cazarez family, and especially Adan, Michael and Zoe. He loved you so much!!”

“Hello loved ones of Ray... I am sad to hear of Ray's passing. Over the 17 years when I was at SB, Ray served the mission of CAHFS and UCD with unstinting professionalism and tireless service. He was a happy team player, a consistently strong resource in diagnostic and food safety microbiology...and a stalwart leader at crunch times, for instance, when Salmonella enteritidis PT4 made a scary incursion in Layer Chickens. He was one of my best... Ray, I wish you peace.”

“.I am very saddened to hear about the passing of Ray Cazarez May my condolences bring peace and comfort to his family. Ray was one of the few individuals who joined CAHFS in the early ’90s when the milk laboratory was established. He brought with him his technical expertise in milk testing which was essential for the development of the nascent laboratory. Later, he moved to the bacteriology department and in all his years he served with diligence and great commitment. May God bless his soul.”
