We are sad to announce that, on January 1, 2026, at the age of 73, Matthew Anthony Deverdi (Redwood City, California) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Matthew had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Matthew may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Matthew DeVerdi and Margaret DeVerdi (Mezzano); his siblings, Cassandra McGrath (DeVerdi) of Holden, MA, Beverly Aijala (DeVerdi) of Apollo Beach, FL, Brewster and Gina Wasgatt (DeVerdi) of Holden, MA; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Aijala and John Wasgatt (Jack). He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Matthew devised the first ever online educational program (pre-Covid) that is now used nationwide.
