He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Barrera Mendez and Jesus G. Mendez of Corpus Christi; and his siblings, Lino Mendez, Albert Mendez, Arturo Mendez, Adrianna Elgas and Anita Mendez.
He is survived by: his significant other Nancy Mendez; his daughters, Christina Arellano (Jerry Arellano) and Lisa Mendez; and his granddaughters, Ilianna Quinto, Frankie Rose Arellano, Annalees Barraza, Olivia Barraza and Kristen Barraza. He is also survived by many nieces and Nephews.
Viewing was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Calendar Immanuel Lutheran Church (5455 Alessandro Blvd, Riverside, CA 92506). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Riverside National Cemetery (22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518). A reception was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Calendar Riverside Elks Lodge 6166 (6166 Brockton Ave, Riverside, CA 92506).
