He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Refugio Vasquez and Nicolasa Vasquez; his wife Mary; his children, Joe Jr., Johnny (MaryLou), Bernard (Trina), Refugio "Cookie" (Terrie), Delia (Richard) and Ofelia; and his grandchildren, Elaine, Johnny Jr. (Koreana), Vanessa (Mikey), Yvonne (Daniel), Miranda, Ashley, Zackary (Kelsea), Bradlee (Lauren), Monica "Charlene" (Mannie), Cheryl (Alex), Sharon (Chris) and Clarissa. He was also cherished by his siblings, 5 brothers and 8 sisters.
