We are sad to announce that, on June 12, 2023, at the age of 89, Philip Perales (Riverside, California) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Melquiades Perales and Cruz Flores. He is survived by: his wife Gina of Yorba Linda; and his daughter Shanna of San Carlos. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and godchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in Perales' name to Disabled American Veterans at dav.org or Wounded Warriors Project at woundedwarriors.org.

“I was a student of Mr. Perales from 1973 to 1976. He was a fantastic teacher! Besides musical stuff, he kept the band room open so those who wanted could hang out, at his beach party he sailed kids around and let them get fake married on his schooner, he let us design the new band uniforms, he always was willing to give advice to anyone who asked... He was a tough teacher sometimes but always had our best interest at heart! I'm glad he had a long life, he willed be missed by so many!”
