He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Avery and Chilnesssia Avery of Kokomo, Indiana.; his siblings, Jack, Larry and Beverly; and his son Gregory Avery.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his daughters, Jessica Reyes, Theresa Ramsey and April Wilson; his grandchildren, R. J. Reyes, Jaclyn Camboa, Jennifer Sisson, Amber Turner, Amie, Austin and Addam Avery; and his siblings, Virginia Holder and Gerry Avery. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
