She was predeceased by: her parents, Lorenzo Magalong and Marcelina Magalong. She is survived by: her brothers, Rafael, Fortunato, Remegio, Ernesto and Andres; her husband Tomas Samson; her children, Felipe (Mercedes), William (Roma), Lolita, Thelma (Steve), Marc (Grace), Corazon (Bill) and Conrado (Nora); and her great grandchildren, Dominic, Charlotte, Colette, Alaric, Hiyori, Yuna, Elizabeth, Victoria, Eleanor, Argeliana, Arfeliciea and Amelia. She is also survived by her children, as she was cherished by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Miraculously, Asiang was one month shy of her 101 birthday and survived World War II, the Japanese invasion of the Philippines, multiple Filipino regimes, the loss of loved ones, and the pandemic.
