She was predeceased by: her parents, Nicholas Ruckman and Edna "Iris" Ruckman; and her husband Henry Schierenberg (Hank). She is survived by: her siblings, Richard and Verna; her children, Allan Schierenberg, Paul and Karen; her son-in-law Ricardo; and her grandchildren, Nicholas and Kristen.
Her kindness extended to numerous charitable organizations, including Shriners Children's Hospital, her favorite charity, as well as the South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership Food Closet, the SPCA, and various veterans and military organizations. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Shriners Children's Hospital in Barbara's memory.
