Richard Holmes Obituary

Rick Holmes born Richard Timothy Holmes in Sacramento California on November 13th, 1948 and passed away on June 14th, 2025; he was 76. He graduated from El Camino High School in Sacramento in 1966.
His work at CalTrans took him to Marysville, San Luis Obispo and finally Sacramento where he eventually retired after 36 years of service ultimately attaining the position of Chief of Material Services for the Equipment Department.
In his free time , he immersed himself in church activities and co-founded United Singles for Christ and The Gospel Truth Drama Ministry performing Christian comedy/drama around the state for more than 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Ilda Holmes and by his older brother Mark Holmes Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Laneve; his son Richard Jr (Tammy), daughter Tamara O’Banion (Joe), grandsons Nicholas and Braeden O’Banion, stepson Matthew Crow (Stacie), Nathan Crow (Casey) step grandson Bradyn Crow and sister-in-law Gabrielle Holmes, wife of brother Mark. He will be dearly missed.
