He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred William Hooker Jr. and Mary Hooker; and his grandparents, Fred, Polly Hooker, Jose and Maria Alvarez.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Tsuboi; his children, Nikki Herring (Patric), Kathy Hooker, Fred Hooker IV (Priscilla) and Patrick Hooker (Jennifer); his stepchildren, Stacey Lee (Garrett), Eric Tsuboi (Allison) and Randy Tsuboi (Pom); and his siblings, Jim Hooker of Bakersfield and Mary Ann Hooker of Gonzales. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
A Mass was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (22 Stone St, Salinas, CA 93901). An entombment was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Memories Cemetery (850 Abbott St, Salinas, CA 93901).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blood Cancer United or the California Rodeo Association.
