It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joy E. Lohuis of Salinas, California, born in Ellsworth, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 14, 2026, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Joy departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Joy may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Joy leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her husband Howard Kenneth Lohuis; and her brother Harlan Craig Seyforth of Maplewood, Minnesota.. She is survived by: her sons, Dirk Lohuis (Kate) of Parkland, FL and Derek Lohuis; and her grandchildren, Paige, Brooke and Gavin Lohuis.
