We announce the death of Kazuko Yonemitsu of Salinas, California, who passed away on September 29, 2026, at the age of 79. Kazuko will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Kazuko will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Kazuko will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Kazuko’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her husband Tadamori; her parents, Yakichi Kamimura and Kuni Kamimura; and her sister Kumiko. She is survived by: her sons, Geoffrey (Eva) and Edward; and her siblings, Akio Kamimura (Tomiko), Akitoshi Kamimura (Aya) and Hiroko Takemoto (Takashi). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Struve and Laporte Funeral Chapel (41 W San Luis St, Salinas, CA 93901). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Buddhist Temple of Salinas (14 California St, Salinas, CA 93901).
