He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Alfred Davey and Lorraine Beatrice Davey (Hilliker); his wife Donis Evangeline Simpson; his siblings, Mary-Jane and Richard; and his son Douglas.

He is survived by: his sons, Dean and Dan; his daughters-in-law, Angela and Victoria; his grandsons, Joshua (Mari) and Jesse (Lily); and his caregiver Kalina. He is also survived by other children's toys he built for his grandsons, some of which his great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the San Clemente Historical Society in Don's memory.
