We are sad to announce that on November 23, 2020, at the age of 69, Bala Pandi (San Diego, California) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by : his wife Leela; his children, Vidhya and Vanitha; his son-in-law Cade Johnson; and his grandchildren, Surya and Caleb.

To arrive at his final home destination, he accepted a position as an Assistant Professor at the La Jolla Cancer Research Foundation in San Diego.

“I had the privilege of knowing and working with Pandi on some inventions when he was at SureFlite Hobbies. It was always fun and I enjoyed his high energy and playfulness. We took a trip to Camp Pendleton to present a remote control minesweeper we had built to show to the Marines. He really enjoyed the tour we got from a Marine officer of their weapons and munitions Museum. He will be greatly missed.”
