“I knew Gary for many years, starting when he taught special ed in Turlock, California.. After he moved to San Diego, I visited him almost every year and we'd visit the San Diego Zoo, the beach and Gary's favorite restaurants and hangouts. Gary had a wry sense of humor and always was up for a good time. Gary had many friends but unfortunately many of them were lost to the scourge of AIDS. He had a sweet house in San Diego where his backyard had many trees planted in honor of his lost friends.”
