She was predeceased by: her father Wilbur Rook; her husband Vernon Merritt; and her siblings, Vickie Riphagen and Ricky Rook. She is survived by: her mother Tillie Rook (DeJong); her sons, Steve Merritt (Dana) and Ryan Merritt (Jen); her grandchildren, Carter, Mickey, Dylan and Brinley Merritt; her sisters, Joyce Murphy, Marlys Hamann and Paula Brandimarte; and her grandpuppies, Pablo and Cali.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Porter Funeral Home - Rock Valley (1704 15th St, Rock Valley, IA 51247).
