He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilario Herrera Sr. and Irene Herrera; and his brothers, Edward Herrera and Michael Herrera. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Nelson; his children, Melissa Egan (Christopher), Yvonne Chaparro, Gabriel Nelson (Ericka) and Jeremiah Nelson (Patricia); his grandchildren, Gabriel Nelson Jr., Alexis Salzwedel, Ethan Nelson, Austin Nelson, Avanah Nelson, Katelyn Egan, Dominic Nelson, Anthony Egan and Arielle Nelson; and his siblings, Teresa Baca (Raymond), Patricia Herrera, Jennifer Herrera, Raymond Herrera (Stella) and Freddie Herrera.
