He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Long and Louise Long; his significant other Diane Long; and his children, Jeanie Long and Ted Long.

He is survived by: his children, David Long of Mexico City and Deborah Miracle (Joe) of Memphis; his stepson Michael Bennett (Jessie) of Meridian; and his granddaughters, Sofia Long and Caitlin Floyd.

In lieu of flowers, Jim wanted donations in his name sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and/or The Wounded Warrior Project.
