He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Porter and Lewis Porter. He is survived by: his wife Jan; his children, Ian, Nicole (Mike), Vanessa (Jan) and Holly (Henry); and his grandchildren, Lily and Cody. He is also survived by his sisters, nieces, and nephews.
A proud Army veteran, John served his country with honor and went on to make meaningful contributions to science, earning multiple patents and authoring numerous publications throughout his career as a well-respected senior scientist.
