He is survived by: his daughter Brea Rose Asmus; his wife Brogade; his parents, John Asmus and Linda Asmus; his sister Lisa Wise (Frank); his nieces, Lila, Nora and Audrey Wise; his nephew Andrew Wise; and his child Brownie B. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews from his wife.
He was able to donate his liver and kidneys to three people.
