He was predeceased by: his father Robert Harold Utschig; his brother-in-law John Eadeh; and his mother Elizabeth "Betty" Utschig. He is survived by: his wife Patty; his daughter Kathleen Rios (Rob); his grandchildren, Alina and Robby; his son Nick Elmschig (Ellie); his grandchildren, Quinn and Julia; his daughter Emily Simon (Casey); his grandchildren, Lucy and Junie; and his siblings, Tom Utschig (Pat), Meg Eadeh, Katie Williman (Lex), Ellen Utschig and Nancy Drake (Mark). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Et St. Mary Magdalene Church (1945 Illion St, San Diego, CA 92110).
