He was predeceased by: his father Richard F. Freeman; and his pets, Turbo and Spike. He is survived by: his mother Barbara Freeman; his siblings, Kathy Zellner (Dennis), Kelley Felner (Tom) and Keith (Lindsay); his nephew Chris Osborne (Lindsay); his nieces, Kellie Osborne (Josh) and Taylor Freeman; and his pet Tajia.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests that well-wishers donate to the San Diego Humane Society in Kevin's and Tajia's name.
