He was predeceased by: his parents, James J. Hartnett, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth; and his brothers, James M. Hartnett and Thomas G. Hartnett. He is survived by: his sisters, Bridget Donnelly and Ann Bruss; his brother-in-law Greg Donnelly; his nieces, Kathleen Donnelly, Mary Oliver and Samantha Oliver; and his nephew John Oliver.
In addition to his contributions to the postal service, Vincent served his country honorably in the United States Navy, where he held the rank of Aviation Structural Mechanic Third Class (ASM 3).
