He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, James H. Claypool and Corine Claypool; his wife Mary; his siblings, Ronnie, Barbara, Joyce and Sarah; his daughters, Brandi and Charlotte; his stepdaughter Janine; and his grandchildren, Brittany and Brandon Nia.

Worked for the City of Seaside for 32 years, served on the Community Foundation Board, Seaside/Sand City Chamber, CHISPA and Monterey Bay Blues Festival Board.
