Broussard; her grandparents, Paul, Laura Taylor (Ray), William and Sophie James (Dowdy); her parents, John Henry James, Sr. and Cornelia Alice James (Taylor); her siblings, Carrie Belle Bell, Moses Pickett James (Lut), John Henry James, Jr. (Babe), Mattie Lucille McGowan, Homer Leroy James and Robert Derek James; her nephew Jeffrey Barron; her niece Valerie Smith (Cheney); and her great-niece Carmen Ciera Barron.

She is survived by: her former spouse Stanton Garland; her sons, Craig and Keith; her nephew Talmadge Bell, Jr.; and her niece Jacqueline Cooper. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
