He was predeceased by: his siblings, Victoria "Vic" Prescod Meeks, Jane Prescod, Ann Job and Julien Lashley. He is survived by: his wife Theresa Chevalier Benjamin; his family, Marian Patricia Paula, Violet Mahalia and Nkruma Einstein Obom; his brother Kenyatta Patrice; his grandchildren, Attorney Jelani James, Omari James, Kobie James, Cherelle Frohlich, Nkrumah Prescod, Jr., Kumar Prescod and Myles Prescod; his great grandchildren, Naiomi James, Rowan James, Petra James, Mei Lei Marie Mason and Victor Prescod Mason; and his siblings, Reverend Jeremiah Prescod, Julius Lashley, Janette Lashley Leith and Jeffrey Lashley.
He received several accolades, including a personal letter of commendation from the deceased Queen Elizabeth the II of England, for his tireless work in the Red Cross, a certificate from Congresswoman Barbara Lee as recognition for his contributions to Caribbean-American culture and the adoration of his many fans.
